Would anyone know if the given definition includes legs? In other words is it synonymous with “height” ?

Good question! We use many different variants on “body length” in EOL. As you can imagine, different data providers measure their organisms differently. If you click on “body length” (or any other term) in EOL, you should get a pop up box with more information about the term. Let me know if that doesn’t help; if you paste a link in here to the page where you saw the term, I can be more specific.
