Should Allosaurus lucasi still be in the Encyclopedia Of Life? From what I have seen, Allosaurus lucasi has no distinctive autapomorphies and would be more of a Nomen dubium (Chure & Loewen, 2020 / Burigo & Mateus, 2024).
Good question! We follow the GBIF classification on that branch and I believe they are following the Paleobiology Database PaleoDB is generally open to feedback; you should be able to engage online if you register there. If you persuade them, then all downstream data hubs including EOL will be updated in due course

I was not aware of it. Thanks, I will see if I can register
Allosaurus Lucasi is still considered distinct due to its shorter premaxilla and a more robust quadratojugal with a shorter jugal and quadrate process
I have been trying too as a logged user, to my knowledge I don’t think we can engage online
Hmm… @Paleontologiaargenti did you have any luck? Short of contacting a human, I believe that, logged in, you should be able to “add a taxonomic opinion” from here.
I will certainly try it.
When I registered I didn’t know how to comment, apparently the same case as BioSohan1. I’m not sure how to make a taxonomical opinion.
I unfortunately do not know why that is, Im going to attempt to contact them.
That’s curious. The “add/edit taxonomic opinions” link on the taxon page still works for me. As far as I know, my registration on PBDB is just an ordinary account. I thought anyone could propose a taxonomic opinion. You do have to provide a reference, so it’s not like they’d have to take anyone’s word for it.
